These stuffed dolls were made from a set of deconstructed suitcases. When I moved to Brussels from Chicago, I packed my life into three suitcases. They would no longer serve me any use, instead of tossing them I deconstructed them and used the material to make these stuffed sculptures. Their heads are all interchangeable and they are grouped by sets of three.
Symbolically these dolls were a comforting remnant of a life left behind. They became small packages of the first part of my adult life with memories from childhood and my young adult years in Chicago. From domestic and catholic symbolism, to hints of nightlife, sex, and party culture.
